0315L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 7/11/25
HOT today with a chance for thunderstorms later this afternoon into the evening and overnight hours. If storms do occur, winds to 70 mph and quarter size hail are “possible”. There is a cold front involved so we’re not sure, at this point, where it will end up later today but wherever that is, that’s where storms will be concentrated. Just be prepared for heavy rainfall and strong winds later today. One more thing, if storms train over the area, keep kids out of the creek areas. There is a slight risk of flooding this weekend.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Friday- Mostly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid-90s. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Friday Night- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows around 70. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
