0310L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 8/11/25

We are in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 0600L this morning along with a Flood Watch until 0700L.

Flash flood warnings are in effect for areas of eastern Grant and western Kay county so if traveling that way, use caution. As of 0300L, we haven’t received any rain yet but that will most likely change before dawn. PWAT values are near 1.7 to 1.9” so keep that in mind if you are in an area of heavy rainfall. This just means that you could see just under 2 inches of rain per hour if these rates maintain themselves. We’ll see what happens.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Monday- Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming partly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humid with highs in the lower 90s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Monday Night- Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly in the evening. Humid with lows in the upper 60s. East winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming west after midnight. Chance of rain 70 percent.

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification, warning, and preparedness app. If you don’t have it, you’re NOT prepared!

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
