0345L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 8/2/25

We are in a GENERAL RISK area for thunderstorms later today into tonight. There is a Slight Risk over the panhandles into SW Oklahoma due to NW flow aloft along the eastern periphery of the upper high which is centered in the SW U.S.. With good moisture return along with atmospheric instability, severe weather in eastern Colorado through both panhandles will be possible. If you plan on traveling out west, check conditions as large hail, damaging winds, and tornados are possible later today.

For our area, we do expect thunderstorms overnight with locally heavy rainfall. It’s only 20% but we know this may change. We’ll advise later on any changes from this morning’s dataset.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Saturday-Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-80s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night- Mostly clear in the evening, then partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our warning and preparedness app. If you don’t have it, you’re NOT prepared!

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
