0425L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 7/26/25
HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1PM UNTIL 8PM TODAY
The KVNX AND KFDR RADARS are still having intermittent Level 2 latency issues. Techs are aware and they are working on it. Continue to use the level 3 data for now.
As the thermal ridge moves west and back over us, we are going to warm back up with highs upper 90’s and heat index temps into the 100’s. This will be the norm for the next week. Use EXTREME CAUTION while working outdoors and hydrate properly. Many folks are having heat issues and in some it occurs quickly and in others slowly. If you are going to work outdoors, take the time to get hydrated properly and take breaks.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Saturday- Sunny with highs in the upper 90s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Heat index values up to 106 in the afternoon.
Saturday Night- Mostly clear. Humid with lows in the mid-70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Heat index values up to 106 early in the evening.
