MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER WITH WIND AND HAIL BEING THE MAIN THREATS.

Throughout this summer, we have been under a Heat Advisory of some type for quite some time. The forecast, below, has the information likely for today. Some of this may change a bit depending on how storms in Kansas decay later so we’ll see what happens.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today-Mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers. A slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Hot with highs around 100. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming south this afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent. Heat index values up to 106 this afternoon.

Tonight-Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. A chance of thunderstorms. A chance of showers in the evening, then showers likely after midnight. Humid with lows around 70. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, becoming west 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 70 percent. Heat index values up to 105 early in the evening.
