0315L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 7/17/25
MARGINAL RISK for severe weather today and tonight. The storms didn’t occur around midnight since that boundary didn’t make it this far. It is slowly moving south this morning and is expected to end up near I-40 later today. Storms will be possible near and north of this boundary. There is still a question whether it will end up that far south. Either way, if storms do occur, hail and strong winds will be the main threats.
The storm we had around 1930L last night gave us around a half inch in a short time. These type of storms are expected again today. We’ll see what happens.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Thursday- Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humid with highs in the lower 90s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Thursday Night- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
