HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON UNTIL 8 PM THIS EVENING.

HOT AND HUMID. We do have a fairly strong cold front heading our way and temps on Thursday vary due to forecast speeds of the front. We could end up in the low 80s with a fast passage, upper 80s to low 90s with a medium speed and if it really slows down, it may not push through until we reach the mid to upper 90s. We have anywhere between a 20 to 40% chance for rain. Without a lot of vertical wind shear, our main threat will be damaging winds. We’ll see how this mess sets up.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Wednesday- Sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Hot with highs around 102. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday Night- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of rain 20 percent.

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our warning and preparedness app. If you don’t have it, you’re NOT prepared!

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
