0340L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 10/12/25

Warm and windy with a higher possibility for wildfires. Temps may ease into the 90s along with strong SSW winds today. Fire danger is moderate. Later tonight, we could see some shower and thunderstorm activity as a front moves towards the area. The cooler weather on Monday will give way to warmer temps around mid-week. Thunderstorms “may” be back in the forecast by next weekend.

We are abnormally dry now and with strong winds in the forecast, there should be NO CONTROLLED BURNING TODAY. Anyone that starts a fire today may be putting property and lives at stake. Keep your eyes peeled out there for any suspicious activity too.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your countywide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Sunday- Mostly sunny and breezy. Highs around 90. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Sunday Night- Cloudy. A slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
