WINTER WEATHER UPDATE FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT – 01/24/2026.
After a brief lull in precipitation, we are beginning to see periods of light-moderate snow throughout the area. The second wave is looking to be a little stronger. We are still forecasted to receive between 8-10 inches of snow by the time the storm moves out tomorrow morning. I have been out checking road conditions this morning, crews are out sanding and clearing roads. Please be patient with road crews as they are doing their best to keep up, as the snow continues to fall. If you do need to get out and drive, just know that roads are slick and hazardous, and will continue to deteriorate. Our current temperature is 6 degrees with a wind chill factor of -13 degrees. Stay indoors and stay warm!
