0350L-MONDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-5/4/2020
1-We are in a MARGINAL RISK area for severe weather later today. We are again in a zone where timing could be a major issue and storms could form anywhere around us. Storms could also form to our west and or northwest and come in to say hi. With a warm front pushing up from the south, a cold front pushing into the area, and a dryline to our West-SW, it could get interesting. The heavier weather should be east of us later this afternoon so if you plan to travel east and or south today, pay very close attention to the STORM PREDICTION CENTER and the NWS. Your television stations will be out of control as usual.
2- Overall, we’ll be ok. We’ll watch and advise as needed. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today-Patchy fog early in the morning then mostly sunny until late afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the late in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Highs in the upper 80s with southeast winds 10 to 15 mph shifting to the west 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of thunderstorms 10 percent.
Tonight-Mostly clear. Cooler. Lows in the lower 50s. North winds 15 to 25 mph shifting to the northwest 10 to 15 mph after midnight.
No Directors Comment today other than make sure you have our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app downloaded so you can be and stay well informed from us at GCEM and the NWS.
HAVE A SUPER DAY!!
MIKE
