0325L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/4/21

1-Another day of warm temps and light winds. It appears that temps may be a little warmer today than yesterday but as these troughs move through the area, we’ll see slight variations in temps and winds. Overnight temps will drop back down to seasonable averages as radiational cooling by clear skies and light winds occur. Overall, not bad for October, so far. The above said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN; Today-Sunny. Highs in the mid-80s. Light and variable winds. Tonight-Clear. Lows around 50. Light and variable winds.

2- I will be posting a new link to a survey for our Hazard Mitigation Update that we are in the process of doing later this week. If you go to our gcem.org website now, the old link will be right there in front of you in the rectangular box. The link is safe and please answer this survey as soon as you can. It may only take a few minutes but doing these surveys is easier than trying to get folks to meetings. As stated, the new link will be there later this week. I will try to keep the old link too but there are no promises on that one.

3- More info on this as we move through the week.

FINALLY, the Fire Danger is increasing slowly so keep this in mind as we move closer to the winter months. Yes, we did receive some rainfall but foliage on the surface is dry. The rain mostly ran off so just continue to be cautious when utilizing anything related to fire.

STAY SAFE!
