0500L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 5/24/25

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 10 AM THIS MORNING. THIS MAY BE CANCELLED FOR US IN AN HOUR OR SO AS LONG AS REDEVELOPMENT DOESN’T OCCUR.

SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER LATER TODAY. Hail and winds will be the main threats. Storms are still ongoing in the eastern half of the county but nothing severe at this time. Please let me know if anyone sustained damage from hail or winds especially in the NE quadrant of the county

We’ll have a front later today, a dryline out west and another good chance for severe weather depending where that mess sets up. It’s hard to say since we have convection going on right now. There will also be some outflow boundaries around the area so we’ll just have to watch and wait and see how all of this comes together.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. East winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid-60s. East winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
