0355L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/29/21

1- Very low chance for rain later today and tonight so make sure you have an umbrella with you just in case they happen. With Hurricane IDA moving onshore as a CAT 4 Hurricane later today, moisture from the storm is moving northward towards southeastern Oklahoma. It shouldn’t reach us but this mess could affect the surface front that will be moving our way. All of this depends on tracks right now so we’ll see what happens.

2- Worst case scenario, we may have thunderstorms but organized severe isn’t expected. Right now, I wouldn’t mind some rainfall. Overall, we’ll be ok so we’ll watch and see what actually happens. Just stay weather aware and you’ll be alright.

3- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

 Today-Mostly sunny. A slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 90s. Southeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows around 70. Southeast winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable.
