0330L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 7/6/25
Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. NWS warnings and advisories come through automatically IN DETAIL! You’ll receive info from us too! You just might need this later today!
MARGINAL RISK for severe weather later today. Strong winds, large hail, and torrential rainfall will be the main threats if storms occur. We are under NW flow being on the eastern periphery of a large ridge centered in New Mexico. That said, this makes us susceptible to storms coming off the high plains of Colorado and western Kansas. We do have a stationary front in southern Kansas that may be the focal point for storm initiation later today. We’ll see where this mess fires up and deal with what mother nature throws at us.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Sunday- Mostly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Humid with highs in the lower 90s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Sunday Night- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humid with lows around 70. South winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of rain 20 percent.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
