0320L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT  06/06/24

*MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE STORMS LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING HOURS.

*We have another cold front that will move into the area today. By late afternoon, the front “should” be located near the I-40 corridor. Storms should be able to form along this boundary later today and it appears, per guidance, that they would fire out west first. Timing, as always, will make that difference where so we’ll keep a close eye out and see what happens.

*Overall, we appear to be ok so get outside and absorb some sunshine. One more thing, HARVEST has started so use extreme caution if you happen to be around any farm equipment. Tractors and combines don’t move very fast so use some patience too.

*Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs around 90. Southwest winds around 5 mph, becoming northeast with gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid-60s. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. We still have a good chance we’ll have severe weather through the end of the year.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
