0300L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-11/25/21

 “HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY.”

1- The cold front made it through the area and in it’s wake, the wind. Winds will be gusty but should lay down later this afternoon and we’ll see gradual clearing this afternoon. There was no precipitation with this front and it doesn’t appear we will see any for at least the next 7 days.

2- The above said, we are in what is classified as a Moderate Drought. We do need rain but it appears we won’t see any here for awhile so you may consider watering your yards, yes, even at this time of the year, your yards do need water. Grass may go dormant but the root system is alive and well.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok today so grab a jacket and get some sunshine on the south side of your house out of the wind. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Thanksgiving Day-Mostly cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 49. North wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Thursday Night-Clear, with a low around 27. Light and variable wind becoming south southwest 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

REMEMBER- if you see smoke or fire, call 911 so they can get the proper response dispatched.

HAVE A GOOD DAY.
