0320L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/28/23

*For today from the NWS: THE PRESENT COLD AIR MASS WILL STICK AROUND FOR ONE MORE DAY KEEPING HIGHS IN THE 50S TODAY. WINDS WILL VEER AROUND TO SOUTHERLY WEDNESDAY NIGHT, ALLOWING MOIST, WARM AIR TO BEGIN FLOWING INTO THE AREA AGAIN. LOWS WEDNESDAY NIGHT WILL FALL INTO THE LOW TO MID 30S.

* FROM ME: the severe weather potential for Thursday night is a bit complicated as the ingredients needed for severe weather haven’t quite come into play. We’ll have gulf moisture, then the timing of a cold front that will push into the area, and a storm system out west are not quite lined up. Instability is marginal right now. We’ll see how this mess comes together over the next day or so.

*The fire danger is low today but by Friday and over the weekend, it will be in the CRITICAL ZONE.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so enjoy the day. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the mid-50s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Cold with lows in the lower 30s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
