0305L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/11/22

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification and preparedness app. If you don’t have it, you will need it. Be prepared and informed by downloading it today!

1- Warm and windy as we wait for another cold front that is forecast to come through our area early Wednesday morning. This front will have a chance for rain with it but according to guidance from the NWS, rain will be more likely in SE Oklahoma. A little rain fell here overnight but it’s not enough to get too excited.

2- The main issue with everything happening this week will be the fire weather. With the winds blowing the way they will today and after passage of the cold front, the fire danger will be elevated. We ask that NO CONTROLLED BURNING be done at least until we have calm days.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning. Breezy with highs in the lower 80s. South winds 15 to 20 mph, becoming southwest around 25 mph this afternoon. Gusts up to 40 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight-Mostly clear in the evening, then partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

STAY ALERT AND STAY SAFE!
