0315L- FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/23/22

1- WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY. This might be extended.

2- At 0300 its 2 degrees with a -17 wind chill out there. As stated in past posts, cover up your skin while outdoors in this arctic air. Frostbite can occur within 30 minutes.

3- Today’s high will be a balmy 18 degrees. It will be windy this morning and winds should lay down some this afternoon. Wind chill temps will still be around -19 below zero. Saturday’s high will be in the upper 20’s and Christmas day should be in the 30’s.

4-The most important thing right now is to just cover up while being outdoors and drive according to conditions. Continue to watch out for any ice on bridges and overpasses and in low lying areas. Other than these, put your phones down while driving.

5- Overall, we’ll be ok, just cold so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny. Cold with highs around 18. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Wind chill values as low as 19 below.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Cold with lows around 5 above. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
