0335L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/22/22

WIND ADVISORY in effect from 0300 until noon today.  WIND CHILL WARNING is in effect until noon on Friday. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect from now until noon today. Recommendation-Stay inside unless you just have to be out since it’s VERY COLD out there.

1- The storm is here and we hope everyone prepared for it. Right now, the roads are very slick so if you decide to drive, use extreme caution along with the fact that crosswinds could push you into a ditch on east/west roads. Just be careful.

2- If you have to get out today, be sure to cover up and for sure this morning, TAKE YOUR TIME! Roads are slick and hazardous.

3- Overall, follow winter weather guidelines for your safety and we‘ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Cloudy with a chance of snow this morning, then mostly sunny this afternoon. Areas of blowing snow this morning and this afternoon. Snow accumulation around half an inch. Windy and much colder with highs around 10 above. North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Chance of snow 50 percent. Wind chill values as low as 23 below.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Cold with lows around zero. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Wind chill values as low as 20 below.
