0310L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 2/17/25
EXTREME COLD WATCH-Tuesday @ 6 PM until Thursday @ 12 pm.
WINTER STORM WATCH -Late Monday evening until Late Tuesday evening.
We have a briefing with the NWS/NORMAN at 10 am this morning. If additional guidance is presented, I may do a short live broadcast on social media. I am not worried about 4 inches of snow or more, It’s the dangerous wind chill temps that are expected here in the region. We are looking at minus (-21) degrees below zero wind chill temps and daily high temps in the single digits.
Today will be mild with highs in the 40s. Strong winds gusting to 30 will make it seem cooler. It would be advisable to make any preparations for the incoming bitter cold temps that we’ll be dealing with starting on Tuesday. Don’t forget your pets!
Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-40s. Southeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Tonight-Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. A chance of sprinkles in the evening, then a chance of freezing rain and sleet after midnight. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation. Ice accumulation around a trace. Cold with lows around 18. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’re better prepared with it than without it.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
