FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-UPDATE
ADVISORY: OUR THUNDERSTORM RISK HAS LESSENED SOME HERE IN GARFIELD COUNTY BUT WE ARE “NOT” OUT OF THE WOODS. THE COLD FRONT IS IN THE AREA ALONG WITH THE DRYLINE. OUR RISK HERE IS A SLIGHT RISK. DANGEROUS WEATHER CAN OCCUR IN THIS TYPE OF RISK. THIS SAID, IF STORMS OCCUR HERE, THEY WILL GO SEVERE WITHIN 15-20 MINUTES AFTER FORMING. YOU CAN EXPECT GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL, 70+ MPH WINDS, AND THERE IS A VERY LOW RISK FOR ISOLATED TORNADOES.
SPOTTERS HAVE BEEN PUT ON STAND-BY ALERT STATUS IN THE EVENT THEY ARE NEEDED.
FOR “ANYONE” TRAVELING EAST, NORTHEAST, OR SOUTHEAST, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WEATHER MAY LIKELY OCCUR LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. WINDS-70-80 MPH, BASEBALL SIZE HAIL OR LARGER, AND TORNADOES ARE LIKELY. STAY EXTREMELY WEATHER AWARE AS THE DAY MOVES FORWARD AND KEEP AN EYE TO THE SKY. FOLKS IN EASTERN OKLAHOMA NEED TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH THE NWS/TULSA WEBSITE AND PAY ATTENTION TO LOCAL OFFICIALS THERE.
I’LL ADVISE AS NEEDED.
