*HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON UNTIL 8PM THIS EVENING. USE “EXTREME CAUTION” WHILE WORKING OUTDOORS.
*As stated above, the HEAT INDEX is back. Indices upwards of 109 are possible in the area this afternoon and there is a “low” chance for a thunderstorm. IF thunderstorms occur, strong winds would be the main threat. We’ll see what happens in the region.
*The fire danger is increasing and we are now in a severe drought situation. Winds will be gusty upwards of 25 mph so if you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.
*Overall, we’ll be ok just back into the oven, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 90s. Southeast winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Heat index values up to 109 this afternoon.
Tonight- Mostly clear. Humid with lows in the upper 70s. Southeast winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Heat index values up to 109 early in the evening.
