0255L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/16/22

1- Many rumors out there stating the apocalypse of winter is coming for Christmas. NO apocalypse but YES, it will be very cold and WIND CHILL temps will be dangerously LOW. Will record temps occur? Maybe but doubtful. The storm system and related cold fronts will bring very cold Canadian based air, but we’ve been colder. Will it snow? Too far out to tell yet. One thing for sure is YOU WILL NEED A COAT!!

2- Dry conditions and winds will increase the fire danger out there so use extreme caution. If you see smoke or fire, call 911. For controlled burns, call 580-234-FIRE (3473).

3- Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny and brisk. Highs in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight- Clear, cold with lows in the lower 20s. West winds around 10 mph gusting to 20 mph.

4- Be sure and download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app, You’re not prepared without it.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
