0345L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/18/2020

1-Winds are back in the forecast and they may come on pretty strong as another front takes aim at us. We could see gusts upwards of 30+mph so keep that in mind today as you do your respective jobs out there. If fire is a part of your job, remember that even though the ground is soaked, the winds will dry the surface foliage and it could ignite so use extreme caution.

2-GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification app. It’s loaded with information to not only help you in the preparedness process but to help guide through a disastrous event. It will also advise and warn you from the NWS and from GCEM. Your willingness to be prepared is your decision but isn’t your family important enough to get prepared BEFORE the event? Close to 10,000 folks think so. What about you? PREPAREDNESS=RESILIENCE.

3- Other than #1 above, we should be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid-40s. South winds 15 to 25 mph gusting to 32 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s. West winds around 10 mph shifting to the northwest after midnight.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
