0320L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-2/14/2020

1-GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our emergency notification app. Many have it, many don’t. If you are one that doesn’t have it, don’t call me this spring asking what you need to do. You should already have that plan and procedure in place right now. Waiting until the day of the storm to prepare isn’t wise. YOU COULD MAKE BAD DECISIONS UNDER PRESSURE, ESPECIALLY if you are watching the TV media. PREPARING NOW= RESILIENCE LATER. It’s your choice!

2- Per guidance for today, a trough is working its way across the area and snow is possible in the west-central part of the state. We may even see a flurry around our area but don’t get excited, it will end quickly this morning. Other than that, cold temps and the wind chill will be the 2 factors this morning.

3- Over the weekend, we will warm up into the 50s and 60s so enjoy it as we will dip back down temp-wise and winter will take another run at us next week. That said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Partly cloudy with highs in the mid-40s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph gusting to 20mph.

Friday Night-Mostly clear. Not as cold. Lows in the mid-30s. South winds 10 to 20 mph gusting to 28 mph.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!

MIKE
