FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

GOOD MORNING,
Today looks to be mild with fairly light winds. The drought index came out yesterday and the rain we received really didn’t have much of an impact according to the graph. We are still in a MODERATE drought in the NW 2/3rds of the county and in a SEVERE drought in the SE 1/3 of the county.

The Governor lifted the burn ban a few days ago and really, nothing has changed other than the foliage is still dead but our means to get out into many open fields will now be hindered by wet ground. Keep an eye out for suspicious activity in your area and report that to law enforcement ASAP.

That said, if you want information from the Sheriff’s Office like BOLO (be on the lookout) alerts through the GARFIELD COUNTY EM app, touch the cog at the upper right corner, tap notification settings, find SHERIFF/PUBLIC, tap it to on and put in 1234 for the pin number and you’ll receive those reports and advisories. If there is a lock beside the name, those are password protected and access won’t be given except by the entity in control of that channel. There will be additional channels added as we see a need to different means for communication purposes.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Sunny, with a high near 69. South wind 9 to 13 mph.
Friday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. South southeast wind 5 to 9 mph.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!
MIKE
