FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Good morning,

This will be “fairly” short and sweet today as I start dwelling upon what has been learned while attending the summit the last few days. There are some new citizens moving to the area from regions that don’t have our type of weather. Those folks need to understand that we can have winter, spring, summer, and fall weather all in one day when conditions are just right. Just be prepared. I also would like to stress for them to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. We just did an update so a few minor glitches could be fixed.

REMEMBER– Storm Spotter Training is March 21st and is open to the public. If you want to learn about our weather and storm structures and how to deal with it, come to the class and learn. It’s free, by the way.

The BURN BAN has been lifted by the Governors office. WHY? Not sure other than an inch of rain isn’t going to solve that issue. Just keep in mind that if you see smoke out there, continue to call 911. Controlled burning is supposed to be called in. Dispatch has that list posted so unlisted smoke or fire reports will have an immediate fire response.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Thursday-Sunny, with a high near 68. South southwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Thursday Night-Clear, with a low around 39. South wind around 10 mph.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!
MIKE
