0325L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-1/1/21

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I think we are actually having a winter this year, at least so far.

1-WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY. AS OF “0250L” WE HAVE RECEIVED JUST OVER AN INCH AND WE HAVE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW FALLING RIGHT NOW. WINDS ARE NORTHERLY AT 15-20 GUSTING TO 29MPH. We have the potential to receive anywhere from 3-6 inches before the snow ends.

2- Travel may be tricky so take it slow and use extreme caution. No need to get in a hurry as that may cause you to quickly leave the road then we have to go to work. Just be careful.

3- Today’s high should climb into the mid-30s. The storm SHOULD end around mid-day or so. That said, we’ll be ok so enjoy the snow! Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

FRIDAY-Snow early in the morning, then snow likely late in the morning. Highs in the upper 30s. North winds 10 to 20 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT-Mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid-20s. Northwest winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

MIKE
