FRIDAY WEATHER OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT – 01/09/2026
Good morning, Garfield County!
This week has been a great example as to why you should always stay prepared, and weather aware. We experienced spring like storms yesterday, and winter returns today. While yesterday’s storms are slightly unusual for January, it’s a reminder that we can experience severe weather at any given time throughout the year.
A much quieter start to the day following yesterday’s active weather. While things have calmed down, a cold front has settled in, and we are tracking a slight chance for some light wintry precipitation later today. A weak system moving across northern Oklahoma could bring a few stray showers or even some light snow flurries, though no significant accumulation is expected.
Here is your forecast from the NWS/Norman
The Details
Today – Mostly sunny. A slight chance of rain showers this afternoon. Cooler with highs around 50. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Tonight – Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Cold with lows in the upper 20s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
