FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-FRIDAY, July 14, 2017

RAIN is in the forecast for today and tomorrow. Chances are not real high but it is a possibility. That said, if we see a few thunderstorms, the main risks would be heavy rainfall, lightning and fairly strong winds. Overall, it would be nice to see some shower activity. We don’t expect severe weather but we’ll keep an eye out.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Friday-30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 100. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming north in the afternoon.
Friday Night-30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. East southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming north in the evening.

Continue with your heat precautions today and stay safe.
