0330L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/23/21

1- After reading several discussions this morning, I have concluded that we will remain hot, dry, and humidity will be on the rise. There will be a very slight chance for some precip later on Sunday into Monday morning but that is less than 20%. Other than this, it will remain above what is called normal in temps.

2- As temps rise and you either work outside for a living or you are just doing yardwork, just remain vigilant about how you feel and make sure you are sweating. Sweating is your bodies way of cooling itself and if that stops, it will mean BAD NEWS. Stay hydrated and pace yourselves as we will go into a prolonged timeframe of heat.

3- FIRE-WISE, there is a lot of overgrowth out there so be extremely careful utilizing anything related to fire. There is quite a bit of controlled burning going on so if anything looks suspicious, call 911 and the proper response can be sent. Farmers, if you plan on burning, please call dispatch and let them know. Here is a link for all Fire Department numbers and Law Enforcement in Garfield County:  https://gcem.org/emergency-numbers/

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

Tonight-Clear. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

FINALLY- Be sure to get our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’re best prepared having it than not.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
