FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT JULY 7, 2017

HEAT– is the word for today. Make sure you take precautions for yourself and your children. DON’T FORGET YOUR PETS!!
Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Sunny and hot, with a high near 100. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Night-20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Mostly cloudy with a low around 71. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast after midnight.

We are in a MARGINAL RISK for severe weather later this evening as a very weak front approaches from Kansas. Main threat looks to be the wind. We could say hail could play a part but the winds will be the issue. Exact timing is questionable right now but will update as data comes in.
