0400L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/1/19

1) March is finally here and all I have to say for this coming weekend is make sure you have your coats handy. It’s going to be bitterly cold do to windchill temps come Saturday night, Sunday into Monday. Some winter precip which may include freezing drizzle/rain and light snow is also expected so prepare for that too. Any accumulation is expected to be light but travel impacts may occur.

2) The above stated, if you plan to travel, be sure to check the forecast at your destination location and all road conditions which I have all states surrounding Oklahoma on the front page of our gcem.org website. WICHITA AND DODGE CITY WFO’s have a Winter Storm Watch for Saturday and Sunday so be careful if traveling up there.

3) We may see some sunshine today so if it appears, get out and absorb some rays. It will be your last chance possibly for several days. As always, we’ll be ok. No panic necessary at this time. We’ll post changes to the forecast as needed.

4) Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday- Partly sunny with a high near 45. South wind 3 to 8 mph.

Friday Night- Partly cloudy with a low around 25. Light northeast wind becoming north northeast 5 to 10 mph in the evening.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

MIKE
