FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-FRIDAY, 5/5/17

Wow!!!  An extremely nice weekend is coming up so get outside and enjoy it. Lows will average in the mid to upper 40’s and daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 70’s. We may even see low 80’s by the first of the week. The main issues to watch out for are those pesky skeeters and gnats. Make sure to protect yourself and the kids while outdoors.  This is very important especially around standing water. I have noticed there is a lot of standing water around the ball parks so make sure you have some sort of repellent. Dump out any thing around the house that holds water too.

There is a chance for thunderstorms late Tuesday into Wednesday so you can keep up with the latest from the NWS. It’s very early to know what will actually occur but keep in mind that there is a cold front involved and timing of that along with moisture return and the storm system to the Southwest is always an issue. No need to panic, we’ll be ok as everything looks right now.

That said, I will not be posting from Monday through at least Wednesday as I am having surgery on Monday.  No details are necessary at this time.  Our network of emergency services personnel have been briefed so everything is covered.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Sunny, with a high near 73. North northwest wind around 7 mph.

Friday Night-Clear, with a low around 50. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the evening.

HAVE A SUPER WEEKEND!!
