0305L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 5/9/25
Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. NWS warnings and advisories come through “in detail” automatically and you’ll get important info from us too. Also, make sure you have the updated version 7.0.0(33) updated in March 2025. You may need to delete and download it again.
A nice day is on the menu with a low 20% chance for a shower or two this afternoon. Per guidance; the cut-off low, which is east of us, will continue to bring us NE winds and this afternoon we’ll see cumulus clouds form again and with a little diurnal heating, we could see a shower. This said, lightning appears to be the biggest threat if this happens. As I stated yesterday, don’t change any plans, just stay weather aware. After today, we’ll have 5 to 6 days of very nice weather and to some, it may be hot weather. Storms may return by late next week.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. North winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming northeast 10 to 15 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 40s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
