0330L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/01/21

1- As you are aware, it rained a little here and a lot in the Lahoma area. Lahoma received 3.96 inches of rainfall and here in the Enid area, we received ¼ of an inch or so. Feel free to give me your rain totals. Overall, it turned out to be a really nice cool day.

2- For today, there is a chance for additional rainfall during the daylight hours but especially during the overnight hours. No organized severe weather is expected.  That said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-A chance of thunderstorms through late afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Light and variable winds. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.

Tonight-Showers and a chance of thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 60s. Light and variable winds. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.

3- We have made changes on our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. The weather icon will direct you to the NWS in Norman for right now. I didn’t like the weather version that was selected to be on the app. It is being worked on and this could change in the future. Click on it after you update your app and send me feedback. On the NWS SITE, look it over carefully but be sure to put in your zip code in the upper left corner box so you get forecast information WHERE YOU LIVE.

There is also a DIRECTOR’S TIPS icon in the center of the app now. I have written a 3 to 4 page GUIDELINES FOR PREPAREDNESS paper that should give some insight on what to do BEFORE the storm, so to speak. Give me your thoughts there too.

STAY SAFE

MIKE
