0315L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/15/21
 
1- Cooler today with fairly strong NNW winds putting a little chill in the air. Welcome to Fall, at least for a while. Temps will average in the upper 60s today and then from the upper 60s to the mid-70s through the next 5-7 days. Low temps will vary day to day from the upper 30s to the upper 40s to maybe the low 50s. It appears like it may be jacket time outside at night.
 
2- Overall, weather-wise, we’ll be fairly nice for the next several days so get outside and enjoy the cooler temps. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
 
Friday-Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid-60s. North winds 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts.
 
Friday Night-Clear, colder. Lows in the upper 30s. Northwest winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable.
 
IMPORTANT STATEMENT- Keep the following 2 words imprinted in your minds-SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. For your safety, this is probably the most important 2 words coming into the holiday season and really, these should be on your mind 24/7 all year long. Most folks bury their noses into their cell phones, even when they are driving and bad things can happen.
 
PAY ATTENTION to your surroundings while going shopping and returning to your vehicle along with driving to and from those locations. There are many evil people out there just waiting to ruin your day and possibly your life buy hurting you or someone in your family. If you see suspicious activity or feel you are being followed, CALL 911. YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN TEXTING SOMEONE. More on this subject in later posts.
