0330L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/27/23

*A COLD FRONT is moving into the area as I type this morning. Winds will become northerly 10-20 mph gusting upwards of 30 mph. Temps will drop today about 20 degrees, give, or take and winds will calm down somewhat by dark. That said, it’s the second front we will deal with that will usher in much colder air this weekend. Temps Friday and Saturday will be around 45-50 degrees and then we plummet into the 30s for highs on Sunday along with strong winds. It will be the wind chill that could have adverse effects on folks so don’t be too brave and not wear a coat as we get colder.

*We may see some rainfall and “possibly” some winter precip as this mess mixes into the area. We’ll see what happens. Just remember that this is our first major intrusion of arctic air this fall so be careful.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday- Mostly sunny. Much cooler. Less humid with highs in the lower 50s. North winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Friday Night-Partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the lower 40s. Northeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
