0330L-MONDAY OUTLOOK AND INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-4/5/21

1- WARM, WINDY, AND DRY as a cold front and storm system move towards the area. This doesn’t mean that we’ll see rain but at least there is a low chance Tuesday evening along with a day of slightly cooler temps. Overall, we’ll be ok but the Fire Danger will be elevated. Keep an eye out for smoke and fire and report it accordingly.

2- Here is the new story & schedule for STORM SIRENS IN ENID NOW. We have replaced several of our aging sirens and replaced them with voice capable sirens. We will do the full 3 minute test on the first Monday of each month, TODAY! All additional Monday’s will be a VOICE test only, even if it’s cloudy. If it’s raining, neither test will be conducted. Keep in mind that the storm sirens are OUTDOOR WARNING DEVICES and you need to understand this. Having our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app is extremely important too. It will probably warn you before we even set the sirens off. We will set off the siren in Breckinridge on the first Monday of the month only.

3- STORM SIRENS as stated above are outdoor devices designed for people OUTSIDE. Unless you live near one, you WON’T hear them inside of your home. This is why everyone should have a NOAA WEATHER RADIO and of course you should download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. If you like drama, you can watch the OKC stations. This said, your forecast is below…

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Monday-Mostly sunny, with highs near 79. South wind 15-25 mph gusting to 35 mph.

Monday Night-Mostly clear with a low around 59. South wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
