0340L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/23/21

1- HOT, HUMID, AND DRY looks to be the recipe for the week. Rain chances here are low until possibly the weekend. We are not in a heat advisory for today but could be added depending on if the models are right and dew points remain high. We’ll see what happens on this.

2- The FIRE DANGER isn’t too high right now either BUT, in most areas, even green grasses are dry and will burn. Use caution while doing anything related to fire. Controlled burning ISN’T advised or recommended as the winds, and especially wind gusts, will be high today. See forecast below.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok but it will remain hot so stay hydrated out there and don’t forget your outdoor animals. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Highs around 100. South winds 10-20 mph gusting to 29 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 10-20 mph gusting to 25 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
