0340L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/24/21

1-I want to remind everyone that I DO NOT have messenger on my phone. I only see messenger messages when I am actually on facebook. If you need to contact me, call me at 580-249-5969. Let it ring, as it forwards from my desk phone to my cell. It could be 5 or 6 rings.

2- I may be wrong on actual acres, but approximately 200 acres burned yesterday southeast of Pioneer High School. Still waiting on actual details of a possible cause but strong winds upwards of 25 mph drove this fire. Pioneer-Skeleton Creek Fire District, Waukomis, Douglas, Fairmont, Breckenridge, and Garber Fire Departments all responded to this fire. They saved several structures in the process. Great job everyone!

3-CONTROLLED BURNING IS “NOT” RECOMMENDED TODAY.

4- Weather-wise, hot, and windy and this will be the trend through Saturday. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny. Highs around 101. South winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts upwards of 25 mph.

Tonight-Clear. Lows in the mid-70s. South winds 10 to 20 mph gusting to 25 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

MIKE
