0245L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 8/05/24

*The heat will be turned back on starting today with most high temps at or above 100. Humidity will be low so the heat index should be close to the temperature by a degree or so. Either way, summer is still here so pace yourselves while working outdoors. Make sure your pets have fresh water and food if they are outdoor animals. We do have a front that will traverse the area later on Tuesday but it won’t bring much in lower temps, just a change in wind direction.

*The FIRE DANGER is creeping up and with lower humidity this week it won’t take much to get a fire going. Winds won’t be too out of control so at least any fire should be manageable. If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately so the proper response can be sent. Keep your eyes peeled for any suspicious activity and call the Sheriff’s office or 911 if you see any.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, hot with highs around 101. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
