0255L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 8/06/24
*HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 12 NOON UNTIL 9 PM THIS EVENING. We have a front that will arrive early this evening. We’re not expecting any precip but we do expect a rise in dewpoint temps which will increase the heat index as this front pushes into the area. Not expecting any cooler temps at all with this front. The front late Thursday will drop temps around 10-14 degrees. We’ll see what happens then.
*As stated yesterday, the fire danger is slowly increasing. Winds will work in our favor but remember that fire can create it’s own weather too. Use extreme caution while doing controlled burning. By The Way, we are NOT in a burn ban.
*OVERALL, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Tuesday- Sunny, hot with highs around 103. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday Night- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. East winds around 5 mph. Heat index values up to 105 early in the evening.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
