GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-MONDAY- 1/1/18

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

It’s dangerously cold out there this morning and I hope the power issues have been taken care of. There’s nothing worse than this happening when it’s so cold. Overall, it will remain cold as an arctic high continues to settle into the area. Continue to take the precautions for this arctic weather.

As you can see in the forecast below, the wind chill will continue to be dangerous. Protect you, the kids, and the pets. With temps low and lighter winds the wind chill is still very low. Be careful.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

New Year’s Day-Mostly sunny, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -13. North northeast wind around 8 mph.

Monday Night-Increasing clouds, with a low around 5. Wind chill values as low as -3. East wind 5 to 7 mph.

STAY SAFE AND WARM
