0255L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 1/6/25

COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM THIS MORNING.

*As most are aware, it’s cold outside and we’re under a Cold Weather Advisory until 9 am this morning. The main issue with this advisory would be the possibility of hypothermia. When temps are this cold and the wind chill is below zero, your skin can freeze in roughly 30 minutes. Anyone whose hands have been extremely cold in the past know how painful that was. Cover up if going outdoors.  https://www.weather.gov/safety/cold

*There is a possibility of another storm system moving through the region on Thursday. This is being watched closely as a larger event than yesterday’s looks likely. It appears, right now, that it may track well to our south. We’ll see what happens.

Overall, we’ll be ok today. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, cold with highs in the mid-20s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Wind chill values as low as 5 below this morning.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Cold with lows around 8 above. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
