0320L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 6/24/24
*HEAT ADVISORY* IN EFFECT from 12 PM until 9 PM this evening. The Heat Advisory will also occur on Tuesday in the same timeframe.
*As stated before, the heat is definitely on. We had a front push into the area yesterday keeping humidity at bay but that didn’t make much difference in temperatures. It’s going to be hot all week and the heat index will increase as we move forward so any outdoor activity should be done with caution. Stay aware of how you are feeling and stay hydrated with the proper liquids. Here’s that Heat link- https://www.weather.gov/safety/heat
*Winds are forecast to gust higher than 15 mph. We ask that you NOT conduct any controlled burns if winds are gusting higher than 15 mph. We appreciate it!
*Overall, we’ll be ok so just pace yourselves outdoors. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 103. South winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph.
Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Heat index values up to 106 early in the evening.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
