0300L- MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 05/13/24

*A trough will be moving east today and bringing with it a front. Storms along this front could be severe with winds and hail as the main threats. Localized flooding may occur underneath the heavier cells. As the front moves through, drier air will filter in, bringing an end to the rain. After that, our next chance for rain will be Wednesday, off and on, through the weekend, at least for now.

*Overall, for today, our biggest threat looks to be hail and heavy rainfall. We’ll keep an eye out. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid-70s. West winds 5-10 mph, increasing to northwest 15-20 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Lows in the lower 50s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph, diminishing to around 10 mph after midnight.
