FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Rain chances continue in the forecast for late tonight into Sunday. As stated yesterday, the main energy will pass to our north so if you plan to travel into eastern Kansas or Nebraska, just stay weather aware. These areas are under a Slight Risk for severe weather and we are under a Marginal Risk. See graph below. All this said, our risk here in the Garfield County area will be mainly wind related as the dryline pushes through. Downdraft winds with stronger cells could cause wind issues too. Secure anything around the house or at work that could take flight. We are expecting some rain but as always, we’ll see how much after the event.
Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Saturday-Sunny, with a high near 57. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.
Saturday Night-50 percent chance of showers, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 59 by 5am. South southeast wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

HAVE A GREAT DAY and BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!
