0300L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 02/03/24

*Thunderstorms and earthquakes. That’s been a while! The earthquake ended up being a 5.1 about 5 miles NW of Prague and it was approximately 3.6 miles deep. They had quite a swarm down there. It will be interesting to see what they come up with for the cause. Here, we just had some wind, rain, noise, and many felt the earthquake. If anyone sustained damage, let us know and please report it to me via email at mike@gcem.org or through the GARFIELD COUNTY EM app under Damage Reports or Ask the Director. Thanks.

* For today, weather-wise, there will be a low chance for rainfall but not out of the question as wrap around precip may occur later today into tonight. We will have a wind shift late tonight into Sunday with a chance for showers and storms but we aren’t expecting severe weather. We’ll see what develops.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Cloudy this morning, then becoming partly sunny. A slight chance of thunderstorms. A chance of showers, mainly this morning. Highs in the lower 60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid-40s. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

*Be sure and download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app as NWS warnings and advisories automatically come through along with any additional info from us.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
